John Casey Numismatic Research Fund

Thanks to a generous bequest from the estate of the late Patrick John Casey (d. 2016), The Royal Numismatic Society is able to make awards from this fund in order to promote numismatic research.

The Fund is able to distribute up to £8,000 per year to various projects, with individual grants awarded up to a maximum of £2,500.

Proposals are welcome from researchers of any age or career stage, and applicants do not need to have an academic affiliation. Proposals may be for research on any time period or geographical area, as long as there is a numismatic focus.

Projects with a clear output, either digital or in print, are desirable.

Applications should be made to the Society by 28th February or 31st August each year using our standard application form. You will be asked for:

  • a description of your intended project;
  • a description of how you intend to spend the grant money;
  • details of two referees, who must be academics of recognised standing;
  • a curriculum vitae.

All enquiries should be directed to Joe Cribb at joecribb@btinternet.com.
